Itinerary

Day 1Shanghai Arrival

Your guide will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your hotel in the downtown by a private car. The rest of the day is free to explore by yourself or rest after your flight.

Good to know

1. Flexibility -  You can adjust the itinerary by deducting one day or replacing other sites you wish to visit. Just leave the message when making the inquiry.

2. Time-smart -  For this package, five days are comfortable for visiting. However, if time is limited, we can arrange this tour in 4 days.

3. Accomodation -  All hotels are carefully selected with good quality, service and location, but we can change them if you want a different one.

Day 2Shanghai

In the morning, your guide will meet you in the hotel lobby before beginning your Shanghai sightseeing.

First visit Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall which shows the past and the future of Shanghai and offers an overall view of the city. It is really cool both for adults and kids.

Note: Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition has been closed since December 1, 2019 and the time to reopen remains to be announced. Your travel advisor will arrange another site such as Yu Garden or Jade Buddha Temple to replace this attraction.

Then ascend the Shanghai World Financial Center which is 492 meters (1,615 feet) high, the 4th highest building in the world, for a panorama view of Shanghai City from the Floor 100 standing on the glass-floor. The you will visit 94th, 97th and 100th floors. The authentic local lunch will be arranged in a local restaurant.

You will also have a stroll in Xintiandi, a new landmark in Shanghai combining old Shanghai and modern Shanghai. Many fancy restaurants and shops are there.

Next Walk along the Bund on the west bank of the Huangpu River to appreciate the contrasting charm of the Bund and Pudong Districts. Fifty-two antique colonial style buildings line the Bund which is a landmark of Shanghai.

Day 3Shanghai to Suzhou by Train No. G7124 (Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station - Suzhou Railway Station) Dep 08:54 - Arr 09:30

After breakfast in your Shanghai hotel, you will take a high-speed train (first-class seat) to Suzhou. Your Shanghai guide will escort you with the private car to the railway station. It is a 30-minute train ride only.

Upon arriving at Suzhou train station. your Suzhou guide is ready to greet you and the local driver is waiting you outside the station. The first stop is Lingering Garden, the best representative of a classic Chinese garden. It is the biggest and the most famous garden of Four Great Suzhou Gardens. The Garden Museum is very interesting so listen as your expert guide shares stories about the garden and its history. You will also visit Suzhou Embrodidery Institution for the procedure of the production and demonstration of Su Embrodidery.

Next enjoy the lunch in a local restaurant. Then take a rickshaw ride through the old streets and alleys in Suzhou which includes a local market and bird & flower market. This offers an insight of the life of the locals.

Continue to enjoy this city by visiting Tiger Hill (Huqiu) for 20 minutes.

Day 4Shanghai

Today your Suzhou guide will take you to travel to Zhouzhuang Water Town , nestled only 1 hour away from Suzhou to see the ancient stone bridges, tree-line stone alleys, winding canals and buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasty.

After arriving stroll over the Fu'an Bridge, which is the only bridge that connects two buildings. Then on to the Twin Bridge, also called as Key Bridge because one hole in the bridge is round and the other is square. This resembles a key used in ancient times.

On to the Former Residence of Shan Wansan who was a legendary businessman during the Qing Dynasty. This classic residence and its furniture from the Ming and Qing Dynasty and its furniture are influenced by the water town culture. Close by is Shen’House built by Shen Benren, an outcast who became successful making his families rich and powerful.

The local Jiangnan cuisine is celebrated at lunch. Later see the Bizzare Tower where the walls appear to be floating in the air. The last event for the day is a boat ride, gliding the waterways to see the local people’s life and several old sites.

You will be driven back to your Shanghai hotel from Zhouzhuang water town which takes about 1 hour.

Day 5Shanghai Departure

After having breakfast in your hotel , your Shanghai guide and the driver will escort you to the airport for your homebound flight.

Price Per Person in US Dollars

We use different hotels for different tour classes while the itinerary is the same. Deluxe Class is usually staying at a 5-star hotel, Superior Class at a 4-star hotel and Tourist Class at a 3-star level hotel. The prices for one person are based on sharing twin hotel rooms with another guest. A supplement is necessary if you want to book single rooms. And the prices may rise during national holidays, such as the National Day (September 30th to October 6th) and Chinese New Year (late January or early February)
