Itinerary

Day 1Shanghai to Hangzhou by Train No. G7349 (Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station - Hangzhou Dong (east) Railway Station) Dep 09:09 - Arr 10:01

You will make your own way to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station. (Note: if you need the transfer service, just tell our travel advisors).Your train ticket will be delivered to your appointed place days ahead of your departure.

Upon your arrival in Hangzhou, your local guide will meet you at the train station from where your tour will begin. On your way to the first stop, you can sit back and relax in a private van.

First stop is Linyin Temple. This is an ancient building complex with many exquisite pagodas and Buddhist grottoes constructed on rocks or cliffs in 328 AD to house Buddhist materials. In front of the temple is Feilai Feng (Flying Peak) which is believed that it was flew from India to Hangzhou with numerous Buddha images on it. It takes around half an hour to ascend to the top of the peak. The scenery on the mountain road is charming.

Have your lunch in a local restaurant well-known for its Hangzhou cuisine and later head over to Meijiawu Tea Plantation for a rest in the fresh air. Your guide will tell you how tea is produced in the plantation. Pick tea leaves by yourself if you are interested in it.

Night Activity Recommendation – The Enduring Memory of the West Lake is a 50-minute-long light show on the West Lake. It contains dances, songs and local operas. The stand is located beside the West Lake, so the audience can fully soak up the cultural atmosphere of the show. During the 2016 G20 summit in Hangzhou, all the leaders of the members of G20 and other guests were invited to see the show. If you want to see the show, feel free to ask your tour guide. It is not included in the listed price.

After you have your breakfast your guide will pick you up you in the hotel lobby to go to Six Harmonies Pagoda and West Lake.

Six Harmonies Pagoda (Liuhe Pagoda) is on the bank of the Qiantang River, which is one of the most famous rivers in China. The pagoda was built in 970 AD. Climb up to the top of the pagoda to enjoy the view if you wish. The name Six Harmonies refers to the 6 Buddhist ordinances - Harmonies of the Heaven, Earth, East, West, South and North.

Move on to West Lake where its tranquil surroundings are immediately obvious. Many willow trees line the shore and Chinese-style bridges join the jigsaw pieces. A visit to Fairy Island and Three Pools Mirroring the Moon is included and these highlight the lake. Enjoy traditional Chinese dishes in a popular local restaurant near the west Lake.

In the afternoon, the guide and the driver will take you to the train station for your Suzhou trip which takes 2 hours. Your Suzhou guide and the driver will meet you at the train station to take you to your hotel.

Day 3Suzhou to Shanghai by Train No. G135 (Suzhou Bei (north) Railway Station - Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station) Dep 17:58 - Arr 18:21

The best of Suzhou starts from the Humble Administrators Garden. A classic Chinese garden, the Humble Administrator's Garden is also the biggest in Suzhou and was built in 1509 during the Ming Dynasty. The focus is on water surrounded by numerous elegant pavilions, towers and tranquil walkways. Unique aspects of building are provided by the different windows and doors giving different angles from which to see the same landscape. You will then enjoy a rickshaw ride through the Suzhou Old Street and a local market where are the representatives of real Suzhou.

Later continue the trip to the Grand Canal and take a motor boat cruise, which is the most popular way to see the longest man-made waterway in the world and its picturesque lakes and many canals. You could expect to see local life along the way.

When the tour comes to an end, the guide and the driver will escort you to the train station to catch your Shanghai train. Arriving in Shanghai, you are free to arrange your time and your next stop. If you need the pickup service, just tell our travel advisors when booking the tour.

Deluxe Class is usually staying at a 5-star hotel, Superior Class at a 4-star hotel and Tourist Class at a 3-star level hotel. The prices for one person are based on sharing twin hotel rooms with another guest. A supplement is necessary if you want to book single rooms. And the prices may rise during national holidays, such as the National Day (September 30th to October 6th) and Chinese New Year (late January or early February)
